Located off the south coast on the island of Heimaey, Golf Club Vestmannaeyjar was founded in 1938. Its golf course is among the most unusual ones because of its location in Valley Herjolfsdalur, stretching almost all the way to the steep coastal cliffs. Players almost always have to take the windy conditions into account, as there are very few windless days on the island. Other recreational possibilities and the town are only a stone's throw away.
