Records show that the incredible natural landscape that defines golf in Dornoch has hosted golfers since 1616. The responsibility for actually designing the championship course fell to legendary Old Tom Morris, although it has been tweaked by notables such as John Sutherland, Donald Ross, and Open Champion George Duncan. Today, the links of Royal Dornoch is considered one of the top courses in the world for both the quality of its fair challenge and the beauty of its setting.
