A street fair that seems to always be blessed with gorgeous weather, Market Square Day in Portsmouth normally takes place on the second Saturday in June. Events include a 10K road race, bands and other street performers, lots of booth operated by the city's renowned restaurateurs, and plenty of kiosks selling merchandise you may or may not actually need.
The city is also well known for its
Strawbery Banke Museum, which makes Portsmouth a rival of such other historic sites as Williamsburg (Virginia) and
