Lanny Wadkins, who was born Jerry Lanston Wadkins, Jr. in 1949, is an American professional golfer. Wadkins won the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1970. His first win on the PGA Tour was at the 1972 Sahara Invitational in Las Vegas. He was later voted 1972 PGA Rookie of the Year. He recorded his only major championship victory in the 1977 PGA Championship. Lanny Wadkins was ranked in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Rankings for 86 weeks from their debut in 1986 to 1988.
