Chris Malec (born August 28, 1982 in Laguna Nigel, Calif.) is a switch-hitting infielder in the New York Yankees organization. In 2005, the Yankees selected Malec in the 16th round (499th overall) out of UC-Santa Barbara. In college, Christopher Malec was a four-year starter. In 2002, Malec was named to the All-Big West second team and earned honorable mention in the Freshman All-American balloting. He was named first team All-Big West his junior season, and finished his career as a second team member of the All-Big West team.
